The Moldavian Academy of sciences has awarded Mihai Volontir
The academy of sciences of Moldova has awarded to the actor Mihaju Volontiru a title “Doctor Honoris Cauza”. As it is informed on agency IPN site, the actor is awarded ranks for “merits in advancement of cultural values of Republic Moldova”, and also in honour of the 75 anniversary which he has noted on March, 9th. On solemn ceremony the president of Academy of sciences George Duka has declared that Volontir is “pride of the country” on a level with poet Grigory Vieru, composer Evgenie Doga and the writer and playwright Ionom Drutsey.
For the long career of Mihaj Volontir has played in set of known films. Among them “In a zone of special attention”, “From Bug to Vistula”, “Traces of the werewolf” and other pictures. But its most known role is the role of Budulaja in television movies of “Gipsies” and “Returning of Budulaja”.
The actor has been awarded ranks the National actor of the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic and the National actor of the USSR, is the winner of the State award of RSFSR. Now Mihai Volontir continues to work at theatre of a name Vasil Aleksandri.
